Six Months On the Road And….

…..still rolling! We crossed the sixth month mark as full time RV’ers on October 24, 2013. I can’t help but wonder if there are some side bets out there on how long we’ll be at it? Feel free to ‘fess up! The truth is, we don’t know. For now, the gypsy spirit still calls.

Betty wheeled over 6,000 miles since April, hugging the coast, winding around narrow mountainous passes and inching through city traffic with Greg at the helm. We thought she deserved a bit of rest and relaxation. Superstition Mountain Hiking-2

So, for the next several months we are “trying out” the snowbird lifestyle, spending a few months at an RV Resort in Gold Canyon (Phoenix area) AZ and a few more in Hemet, CA (near Palm Springs). Our current AZ neighborhood is near the Superstition Mountains, just a short drive to all the city services. We hike in the mountains one day and trek through shopping malls the next! The resort’s gym, hot tubs, pools, saunas, wine tastings and live music events see our happy faces frequently!

Best of all, our good friends, George and Linda live nearby in Superstition Mountain Golf Community! Reminiscent of past days in Reno when we were neighbors. It always feels like a touch of home when we meet family and friends on the road.  Thank you, George and Linda, for your hospitality and for sharing your favorite local sites with us. We look forward to more fun times with you over the next six weeks!

If you’ve been following our blog, you may be thinking that life on the road seems to be, well….. almost perfect?!  Actually, life on the road is …..life. Stay tuned for our upcoming post: “Things We Haven’t Told You”.

  1. When you decide to begin a new career it has got to be in photography and web design – once again amazing photos – permission to share some???

  2. Great pictures, when you decide to give this lifestyle up, do you have a home to go to? Still want to do it.

    • Thx Debbie. A few years before we hit the road we sold our house and downsized into a condo we owned as an investment. We are renting it out now but will likely settle in a warmer area. Stay inspired…it took us awhile to make it happen!

  3. Greg,
George and I love your pictures of our beautiful mountains here in AZ. We love getting together with you both all the time. Ok, I give you two years of romping around the states, and then settling here in AZ. I could be wrong but you did like the houses we showed you and we would love to have you as neighbors. 🙂 See you next week once your back from Parker. Take a lot of pictures of the CO river.

And Rosanne, your blogs are written so well, you always keep my attention till the end. Happy for you both on 6 months, I knew you would love it and endure it for even longer. Keep on trucking with the wind to your back and God watching over you. Hello to Linda & George, what nice neighbors to hang out with. Looking for more from you, it’s really like being there along your journey. Love you both. 🙂
