Seattle Connections

We continue to be amazed at how often we meet up with friends and relatives on the road and the sometimes uncanny (divine?) circumstances that bring us together.

Gig Harbor, WA

Gig Harbor, WA

For instance, you may recall that I reconnected with my good friend and grade school classmate Maureen while in Portland. During dinner she reminded me that two of our former classmates live in the Seattle area and that was our next stop! Maureen shared everyone’s contact information and we enjoyed a great dinner in Seattle catching up, sharing stories and reminiscing. Thank you Carlo, Melita (Carlo’s lovely wife) and Doris (sorry Hubby couldn’t make it) for a memorable evening!

“I can’t believe it!” I re-read the new message from our blog. “We are in Silverdale, WA. How long are you in the area?” Our dear Reno friends, Gary & Penny, were visiting WA just a short drive from our RV Park in Gig Harbor. They had no idea we were nearby until I posted our location (finally!) the night before. We called them immediately and met in the very quaint town of Poulsbo the day before they returned to Reno. Thank you Gary & Penny for a wonderful lunch and special time together! Miss you two!

Warning! If we know where you live, we may just track you down! We hadn’t seen Greg’s Uncle Chris for many years and recalled that he lived near Seattle but didn’t have his contact info with us. Chris has been in the Porsche business for years building racing engines and ultimately owning his own shop, Chris’s German Auto Service. He is known as one of the best Porsche mechanics in the Pacific Northwest so it wasn’t difficult to find him! He and Greg did a lot together when they were kids so I loved hearing their stories. And, of course, touring Chris’s Porsche operation was a real treat! Thank you Chris for your time and a great lunch!

For those of you we meet up with on the road, thank you for taking the time from your vacation, work schedules and all your activities to spend time with us. For those of you riding along with us on our blog and FB, thank you for your kind words, encouragement, information, and humor. These connections are our most cherished memories.
