Standing on the Corner “In the Way” of the AMGEN Tour of California Bicycle Race

So, the local newspaper dubbed Hemet, CA as “being in the way” of the prestigious AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race!  With a headline like that, we just had to go out and watch the race live.

Yesterday, pro cyclists raced 124 miles from Murrieta, CA to Palm Springs through the streets of Hemet at about noon.  It was exciting to be there and although many “Hemetians” (yes, that’s what the press is calling the locals!) showed up to cheer on the racers, there was plenty of curbside viewing space.

It was great fun!  After the racers sped by, we hurried home and watched the rest of the race on T.V.
