“The happiest place on earth” might also be called “the most expensive place” or maybe it just seemed that way because it had been 14 years since our last visit!! And, yes, we still remember “E” ticket rides! We had a couple “Touron” (a cross between a tourist and a moron) moments when we got lost looking for the park entrance and then again when exiting. Remember when the Matterhorn towered over everything and you just headed towards it across the gigantic asphalt parking lot to the ticket booth? This mighty landmark in Disneyland is now eclipsed by beautiful resort hotels, newish parking structures and the California Adventure park. All that aside, we had a fabulous day playing like kids, riding as many rides as we could and enjoying the perfect sunny weather! Mickey says hi.
A few days later we took a quick drive to Palm Springs. The weather was pleasant as we strolled through the town. Along the way I encountered an interesting photo op of Greg. Need I say more?

We braved the Los Angeles traffic to visit the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center in Exposition Park next to USC. Very impressive!
The self-guided tour begins in a museum filled with shuttle system exhibits, displays and history.
Endeavour is housed in a separate hangar and shows signs of its millions of miles of space travel but is a grand spacecraft nonetheless! It is definitely worth seeing.
There is also an IMAX theatre featuring several films for an additional fee. We viewed the Hubble 3D movie and it was better than expected. We highly recommend it!
A couple notes on visiting….Viewing the Endeavour requires a timed ticket which can be purchased online or over the phone prior to your visit. On weekdays be prepared to share your visit with busloads of grammar school children but don’t worry, as Greg noted, the displays are easy to see right over their heads!
Yep, Disney is expenses but it’s my happy place. We haven’t been to Disneyland since 2009. We like going to Walt Disney World in FL. I’m sure that will be a stop on one of your travels around the US. Also Jeff and I went to Kennedy Space Center in FL, its amazing to see all the space stuff and 3D movies. We are glad to hear you are having a great time on your adventures.
