I always wanted to say that ever since I saw it in an RV ad! It was a gorgeous morning in Lone Pine, CA and although the mountains beckoned us to stay and explore, we continued our journey on the road to Hemet. Lone Pine is definitely on our “go back to” destination list!
We rolled down Hwy. 395 past a sign that told us we were leaving the scenic byway. Really? I’m thinking we could have figured that out ourselves. As the mountains flattened and the terrain became a bit nondescript, the pesky fly buzzing around the coach became real annoying. Probably not as annoying to Greg as the bright orange fly swatter I chaotically waved around the windshield. I won the battle and settled back into my seat.
The ride became more interesting as we descended down the Cajon Pass on the 215 freeway. It is a steep descent for several miles with 6 traffic -filled lanes travelling at high speeds. Trucks passed trucks and cars darted in out, the race was on!
We arrived at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort, Hemet in the early afternoon. It is quite the contrast from the serene mountain setting the night before. Palm trees, 3 swimming pools and hot tubs, spacious gym, clubhouse, and Pickle Ball Courts!
Yes, Pickle Ball. It is a cross between tennis, ping pong and paddle ball. The courts are smaller than tennis courts and small-ish wooden paddles are used to smack a wiffle-type ball across a net. Are we crossing over into “games seniors play”? We did play and it was fun but more of a workout than we thought it would be. Of course, we blamed our fatigue on the gym work out that preceded our Pickle Ball sport. Yes, I did say ‘sport’.

Pickle Ball Courts
They added a Pickle Ball court here in Superstition, we haven’t played it yet but sounds fun. I don’t think its a seniors games or maybe I forgot I’m a senior. The pool looks inviting, live it up in this beautiful RV resort.
